Shri Subhash C.Kalia , appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of NABARD Financial Services Limited is a post graduate (gold medallist) in Political Science and a qualified CAIIB. He has rich experience and expertise in the Banking industry for over 38 years. He had occupied various positions in the banking industry viz., Executive Director of Union Bank of India and also at Vijaya Bank, General Manger at Bank of Baroda (particularly in Wholesale Banking sector), Chief Executive of Bank of Baroda [Mauritius Operations], Chairman of Pratapgarh Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Board member of various Banks and Committees (including that of Domestic & overseas subsidiaries of Bank of Baroda). He had also occupied various key positions at the national and international level; to name a few – he was an Advisor & Head Debt Market Cell constituted by DFS, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India under aegis of IIFCL, Member of the Committee constituted by Reserve Bank of India to re-examine the existing classification and suggest revised guidelines with regard to priority sector lending classification and related issues, Director on the Board of Union KBC Asset Management Company – A Joint Venture between Union Bank of India and KBC Asset Management – Belgium, Advisor to NBFC (HQ in Bengaluru) engaged in Urban Financial Inclusion, Advisor to Large Industrial House in Private Sector on their Plans to apply for New Banking License and Member of Indian Banks’ Association Committee on Agro Business and Financial Inclusion for the year 2010-11.
He is currently engaged in various assignments viz., Senior Strategic Advisor at Yes Bank Ltd, panel member for promotion exercise of Public Sector Banks, empaneled Banking Expert with IBPS Mumbai and member of Governing Council of Banker Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow are to name a few.
