NABFINS extended its business operations to Rajasthan State, the 16th State, with the opening of its new Region at Udaipur on 28 February 2022. Shri Tara Chand Meena, IAS, District Collector, Udaipur inaugurated the Udaipur branch, a Direct Lending Branch, during a small function held at the branch. Shri Jaideep Srivastava, Chief General Manager, NABARD Rajasthan inaugurated the Rajasthan operations of NABFINS. Shri Jiji Mammen, Managing Director, NABFINS handed over the sanction letter to the first client during the function.
NABFINS had planned to open 5 new branches in Rajasthan in 2021-22 out of which 4 branches have already been opened in Udaipur, Dungarpur and Chittorgarh districts of Rajasthan and the fifth branch is slated to start its operations during first week of March 2022. Shri Jiji Mammen along with Sanjay Kumar, DGM & CFO also inaugurated Rishabhdev Branch in Udaipur district in the afternoon of the same day. NABFINS made a beginning in the State with disbursements of Rs. 21.00 lakh during its first month of operations in February which benefitted 65 JLG customers in the State.
Speaking on the occasion of the launching the Udaipur branch, the District Collector welcomed the initiative of NABFINS to start the operation of the Company in the district and expressed hope that the poor people of the district, especially, the un-reached and under-reached rural women will be benefited. He exhorted the Company to extend timely and adequate credit to the people. He expressed confidence that NABFINS being owned by NABARD will do an exemplary role in serving the poor. Sh Meena requested NABFINS to support the development of Anganwadis in the district through the CSR funds of the Company for acquiring some equipment. Shri Jaideep Srivastava, CGM NABARD while congratulating NABFINS stated that he was of the firm view that NABFINS can play a very important role in extending timely credit at an affordable cost in the rural areas. He also shared that NABFINS being a subsidiary of NABARD, has an added responsibility of setting high standards of micro financing in the State.
Shri Jiji Mammen while dedicating the operations of the Company to the rural people of Rajasthan thanked the District Collector and CGM NABARD and assured that it has always been Company’s endeavor to serve its clients with highest level of ethics of business in line with the Code of Conduct prescribed by RBI. He recollected his stint as CGM of Rajasthan RO in the past and said that it was his desire to have the operations of NABFINS extended to State which has fructified through the commencement business in Udaipur.
Sanjay Kumar, DGM & CFO, NABFINS assured the dais that NABFINS will be setting highest standards in micro finance following all the regulations and guidelines. He also motivated the staff of the Region for maximum quality business with focus on serving the rural clients with highest degree of commitment. Shri Shashi Kamal, DDM, Udaipur, Regional Manager & Branch Head, NABFINS were also present during the inauguration ceremony who guided the JLG members.
